ARTIST STATEMENT

When I first began creating, I was intrigued with collage and how my abstract ideas would unfold with the layers of textures, colors and shapes. As I began exploring acrylics, I discovered how mixed media provides me with endless possibilities. Often hand painted paper, yarn, metals and found objects are added to the “mix.”

I prefer to work a substrate in a series. As a rhythm develops, I find the freedom to move along in the variations. Soon, my imagination takes over and an artistic “story” begins to form on the canvas or board.
